Maxim News Network: 21 May 2010 - UNICEF: Senegal - UNICEF's new Executive Director Anthony Lake continued his week-long visit to Senegal, where he visited health centers in the region of Thies, witness the daily efforts of community health workers to deliver medical supplies and mosquito nets handed out to mothers . Lake, who is in Senegal for a global conference on girls' education and equality of the sexes, visited the health center and Sampath spoke to the health of workers and women on health issues inof the country. Senegal recently experienced a polio outbreak and there are currently 17 cases of the disease, there is a nationwide campaign to 2.2 million children to be vaccinated under five years in Senegal.
